Healthy Parenting

Healthy Parenting

I don't have all the answers but I can share with you my experiences and the things I have learned thus far.  These are my views but I believe I share the same views of many people about how to change the way we view parenting for blended families.

So here is my first blog.  I wrote this when I was a step mom and frustrated.

In the qwest for being a good parent I sometimes doubt that I am doing anything right.  I get frustrated, sad, depressed, confused and even angry at times.  Everday there is a reminder to check in with myself and remember the goals that I have set and realign myself, forgive myself.  I believe this is one the major keys to unlocking old patterns.  These could also be patterns that were from your childhood or a pattern you created as a new parent.  Our life is vast and we are able to change not only our destiny but our internal thought process and behavior.  I may not be a doctor or a psychologist or even a spiritual leader.  But I have learned over the years that it is our responsibility to change in order to be the best parent we can possibly be.  This is not the time to ignore unhealthy behaviour.  This is the time to start changing.  I did and I do on a daily basis.  Everyday I learn something new about myself.  Trying to find a balance.  This is essential to creating a healthy life for all to benefit.   If you commit yourself to  the possibility to change your habits or beliefs you have the abiltity to bring about positive change in your family.   A change that will  make you feel enlightened in a new way.
